Q: Classic Mustang Rental in Philadelphia?
I am getting married in July- and it is my fiance’s dream to have us ride in a classic mustang. – The Shelby era. Do you know if we can rent one in the Philadelphia / Princeton area? Thanks!
A: I would contact the national Mustang Club of America or S.A.A.C. which stands for Shelby American Automobile Club.
One or both of these clubs will be able to help you find an owner in your area that rents his car out for weddings. Many owners do this all the time for movies,TV,print ads, weddings and so forth. My personal choice for a wedding would have to be a 1969 Shelby convertibile.in one of the “Grabber” colors
offered back then.

Q: Modern Classic 1965 Ford Mustang GT?
So, I want to buy this 1965 Ford Mustang GT but I also want more power. So, is it anyway possible to replace 1965 engine into modern engine like Shelby Mustang GT 500 supercharged engine? Also, suspension, A.C., gear, and brakes?
Basically, classic looks but modern-tech inside
AND, is there any company that does this? anywhere in US.
A: Probably not. And if you could, for the price of it, you could probably buy a brand new GT500.
Now, you could fit a 428 (which was in the CobraJet) in there. check Ford Racing, got to engine blocks.
Q: What’s the name of this kind of Shelby Mustang?
I saw a beautiful classic car in a showroom a while ago, and now I’m trying to find a picture of it online so I can stare at it some more.
I know it was a Shelby Mustang Cobra. It had black leather interior and I’m almost positive it had a bench seat in the front (rather than buckets). It was pretty curvatious overall. Convertable. Anyone have any idea what model this is?
It can’t be GT500 because that didn’t come out until 2007.
This probably from around the late sixties or early 70s.
Okay, now I’m sure it’s a Shelby and a Cobra and not so sure it was a Mustang. I’m still looking for a pic online.
Thanks dallen, I have been searching for one with a bench. No wonder I haven’t been able to find it.
A: Do a google search for shelby mustangs and you will find links to many sites and pictures. Carroll Shelby (That’s HIS last name, not his daughter’s name. Mercedes was a daughter’s name!!) has been designing and modifying cars since the 60’s. He took the British 2 seat sportscar, the AC Ace, which came with the Bristol 4 cylinder engine and stuck a Ford 260 CI V-8 in it, modified the suspension and began the AC Cobra line. He even developed his own body called the Daytona for the AC frame to make a racing coupe for the faster tracks. The Cobras were later available with the 289 and finally the King Cobra with the Ford 427. Ford then had him mod some mustangs starting in 1965 that were called GT 350’s (with the 289 V-8) and in 1967 and 68 added the GT 500’s (with 427 and 428 V-8’s) His hottest Mustang back then was the GT 500 KR in 1968 that had 650 hp at the rear wheels. The 1970 GT 350 was the last of the old ones. He now has a contract modding mustangs for Ford into the new GT 500’s. (I live right down the road from his facilities) The one_thing I can say is You won’t find a bench seat in a Shelby design. He always used buckets for their ability to hold the driver behind the steering wheel in corners.
Q: which car is faster stock?
which is faster with no modifications, everything is stock? the 1967 shelby gt 500 or the 1968 shelby gt 500 kr? and if you can tell me which classic shelby mustang is the fastest overall as stock with the year and specs that would be great too. thanks!

Q: What is your favorite classic or vintage sports car?
Mine would be a vintage 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350
A: Ford GT40
Q: Eleanor Mustang or original mustang?
Which do you like better?
Eleanor: http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/review-1967-classic-recreations-eleanor-mustang/med/#7
Original: http://www.topspeed.com/cars/shelby/1967-shelby-mustang-gt-500-ar861/picture14540.html
I like the original, but I’m just taking a poll.
A: Yeah, I like the old ones too but, they’re getting harder and harder to find. When you do find one it’s going to cost a small fortune. The new ‘67 & ‘68 fastback bodies that are being produced give those who have the ability to do the work to build a clone for a lot less. Doesn’t have to be an Eleanor though. You can build it to suit yourself.
Q: Why would anybody buy a new Ford Shelby GT500?
Even though it has history and it is the cheapest car with 500bhp, it is the worst form of Mustang. What Shelby did was they took the standard Ford Mustang GT and took the engine out and put the engine from a Ford GT, which is all great. But the one thing that is a big turn off from the car is that they took the suspension and the brakes from the classic GT500 and put it into the new one, which is technically the worst decision in car history. i mean Ford is like “okay, we’ll build a new GT500 with a great engine so we can fix the mistakes the classic made but we’ll put the same suspension so it’ll make the same mistakes.” its rubbish. and when Ford was asked why they put the old suspension, they said it would add 10,000 dollars to the final price of the car. its such an idiotic move by Ford/Shelby. If I was gonna spend 50,000 dollars on a car, i would definitely spend an extra 10,000 on the suspension. so in conclusion, consumers step away from the GT500 and go for the standard Mustang GT or go with the classic one instead. But if you really want a new tuned mustang, i would go for the Roushe Mustang which has modern suspension and modern brakes. and the Roushe is about 60 grand which is BMW M3 money.
to DAD: not quite. its pointless to make an upgrade to a car if your gonna leave it the sameway as it was. its like Microsoft making Windows Vista with the same security problems as Windows XP….its just not right.
to YMCPA: not quite as well, it wasn’t Jeremy Clarkson who said it, it was Richard Hammond as well. so what are you gonna do?
I got it from research and a show called Top Gear. and no i am not a racer, im just a student driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse
A: Good question.
Eventhough it has 500HP, it is slower than some 300HP cars.
It is heavy and boxy in shape, so it is not aerodynamic.

Q: HELP!! Vintage MUSTANG choices!!?
Ok so I want a 1966 for mustang. Either white or cherry red. And idk if I want a convertible or not. Alright so my question is: what makes or models where made in 1966!? Like there is the coupe, GT, Shelby, fastback, convertible, classic? What are all the models? And what is the price range for these vehicles? What about insurance?
With the 1966 models out of coupes and convertibles what engine types are there? Also what codes are there? And I’ve heard I’d like blah blah 286?
A: you seem to know the models and the only engines were the 289 v8 or the 200 in six..although you could get the 289 in 3 stages of tune, 200, 225 and 271 HP.
